Qualification to the WELO Finals is determined through verified national ranking following completion of the WELO TOEFL® assessment.

Advancement is based solely on confirmed academic performance under standardised and supervised conditions.


Ranking & Verification

Following the National Qualifier Window:

  • Student results are compiled and centrally reviewed
  • Scores are validated under LearnRight® integrity oversight
  • National rankings are formally confirmed

Only verified results are used for finalist nomination.


Finalist Selection

Students qualify for the WELO Finals based on:

  • National ranking position
  • Approved country quota allocation
  • Confirmation by the National Committee

Finalist nomination is subject to compliance with eligibility and safeguarding requirements.


National Delegation Formation

Once qualification is confirmed:

  • The National Committee formally appoints the National Team
  • A National Coach is designated
  • Delegation preparation begins in accordance with WELO guidelines

Qualification does not require additional competition rounds beyond the approved National Qualifier process.

All qualification decisions operate under:

  • The WELO Charter
  • Governing Committee oversight
  • Approved quota allocation framework
  • LearnRight® verification standards

This ensures that progression to the WELO Finals remains transparent, merit-based, and internationally consistent.
